What you can ask an assistant to do
The four things a connected assistant is allowed to do with your account, and the kind of request each one covers.
Available on All plans
Once an assistant is connected, it can reach your account directly. What it may do is set by the permissions on the connection, and there are four of them. Each one covers a different kind of request. This is the same whichever assistant you connected.
Read what you have
With permission to view your ideas, content and profile, an assistant can look through what you have already saved. Ask it to find the ideas you kept about a particular subject, or to remind you what you have written on a theme before.
Bring something new in
With permission to capture thoughts and extract ideas, you can hand it something without opening the app. Tell it what you have been thinking about and it captures that, then pulls content ideas out of it the same way the app does.
Write a draft
With permission to generate content in your voice, it can turn one of your ideas into a finished piece, using the same profile the app uses. The draft comes back in the conversation, so you can push it around before it goes anywhere.
Put a post in the queue
With permission to schedule posts to your connected accounts, it can place a post into your schedule. It reaches the same queue you see on the Schedule page, so a post it adds is a post you can open, change or remove yourself.
The four permissions
What each one allows
- View your ideas, content and profile
- Search and read what you have saved
- Capture thoughts and extract ideas
- Add new material and find ideas in it
- Generate content in your voice
- Write drafts shaped by your profile
- Schedule posts to your connected accounts
- Add posts to your schedule
Seeing what it has done
Settings, then Connected Apps, lists recent activity under each connection, along with when the assistant was last used. Check there if you want to know what has been happening through the connection.
