Turn a video into posts

Upload a short video and get a transcript and ready-to-edit social posts from what you said in it.

Available on Paid plans

If you have already recorded something, you do not need to write about it from scratch. Video2Post takes a short video, writes down what you said, and turns it into posts you can edit and schedule.

Before you start

Video2Post is included on paid plans. Have the video file on the device you are working from. It is uploaded from your machine rather than pulled from a link.

Upload a video

  1. 1

Select Create in the sidebar, then Get started on the Video2Post card.

  2. 2

Drag your video onto the upload area, or select it to choose a file. The area is headed Upload Video to Generate Post, and reads Drop your video here while you are dragging one over it.

  3. 3

Wait while the video uploads. The size is shown as it goes, so you can tell it is moving.

What happens next

The page shows four stages as it works through them, so you always know where it has got to.

The four stages

Video
Your file is uploaded
Transcribe
What you said is written down
Post
Posts are written from the transcript
Done
Your posts are ready to read and edit

You get a written post for each platform you are set up for, and the transcript is kept alongside the video. Each post is a draft to edit, not something sent anywhere on its own.

What the app accepts

File types
MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV and WebM
Largest file
750MB
Best suited to
Short videos rather than full-length recordings
Plans
Included on paid plans

Finding your videos again

Every video you have put through Video2Post is kept. Select Library in the sidebar, then View videos on the Video2Post card. Each row shows what came out of that video, so you can see at a glance which ones have posts and which have only a transcript.

Good to know

A transcript on its own
A video can have a transcript without posts having been written yet
Posts per platform
You get one written option for each platform you post to
Editing
What you get is a draft. Edit it before it goes anywhere
Kept
Videos, transcripts and posts stay in your Library
