Brain Dump: talk or type an idea

Not every idea arrives in a meeting. Brain Dump is somewhere to put a thought the moment you have it, in your own words, and have the app pull content ideas out of it the same way it does from a call.

Start in your Inbox

Brain Dump starts from your Inbox, which is also where everything you capture arrives. Your capture link lives there, and that link is what opens the page you type or talk into.

   Select Inbox in the sidebar.

   Select Brain dump links at the top of the page. A panel opens under the heading Capture Channels.

   Find Your capture link and select the copy control beside it.

   Open that link. You get a page headed Brain Dump, over the line Talk or type — it turns into content ideas.

Capture a thought

   Say what is on your mind, or type it. The box asks What is on your mind, and invites your thoughts, ideas, or anything you want to turn into content.

   Send it. The page shows Saving while it goes, and then clears itself ready for the next one.

Speaking instead of typing

A microphone control appears where your browser supports speech. Where it does not, the box still takes typing, and nothing else changes.

Say enough to work with

A capture needs to be at least 40 characters before the app will look for ideas in it. That is roughly a full sentence. Anything shorter is still kept and shows in your Inbox marked Too short, so a half-thought is not thrown away, but nothing is pulled out of it.

What happens to it

A capture goes to your Inbox, where it shows what stage it has reached while the app reads it. Once ideas have been found you can open them from there.
