Schedule a post

You can write a post once and have it go out later. LinkedIn is the one platform the app publishes to for you. The others tag the post so you can find it again and post there yourself.

Before you start

Connect your LinkedIn account first. Open Settings, then Social Connections. A connected account appears under Connected with your name and the word Connected beneath it.

Write and schedule the post

   Open Schedule from the left sidebar. The page header reads Compose and publish across platforms.

   Select New post. The composer opens over the list.

   Under Platforms, select the platforms you want. LinkedIn is selected already. The line underneath reads LinkedIn auto-publishes.

   Under Post text, type your post. The counter under the box shows how much room is left out of 3,000 characters.

   To add a photo or a video, select Add media. To ask a question instead, select Poll.

   Under Status, select Scheduled.

   Under When, select Schedule for… A calendar, a time and your timezone appear underneath.

   Select the day on the calendar, then set the time.

   Select Schedule post.

What happens next

The composer closes and your post appears in the list with the status Scheduled and the date you picked. At that time, LinkedIn publishes it for you and the status becomes Published. For the label-only platforms, post there yourself whenever suits you.

You can see the same posts as a calendar rather than a list. Select Calendar at the top right. The tabs above the list — All, Drafts, Scheduled, Published and Failed — narrow the list to one kind of post.

Good to know

If something goes wrong

A post that did not go out keeps its Scheduled label and gains a red Failed label beside it. Select Failed above the list to see only those posts.

Each platform succeeds or fails on its own. Rest the pointer on a platform icon in the row and it tells you which, in the form LinkedIn: published or Instagram: failed. One post can show both.

   Open the … menu at the right of the row. It offers Edit, Duplicate and Delete. There is no retry.

   Select Edit to correct the post and set a new time, or Duplicate to keep the original and schedule a copy.

   If LinkedIn stopped working, open Settings, then Social Connections, and select Reconnect — LinkedIn access expires every 60 days.
